You CAN help your clients Feel Fabulous About Food, and it starts with taking charge of how you work with clients when it comes to their relationship with food!
Hi! I’m Jennifer McGurk, Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian and Supervisor to many Registered Dietitians.
I originally created a course “Feel Fabulous About Food” to sell to clients back in 2018.
As soon as it was released, many healthcare professionals contacted me and asked me if they could take it too. That’s when I got the idea to create a version for dietitians and professionals.
This version, “For Professionals: Help Your Clients Feel Fabulous About Food” was created specifically for healthcare professionals to support their clients with the principles of intuitive eating and eating disorder recovery.
Many years ago, I read Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch and it was the start of my own eating disorder recovery. I always knew I wanted to help others do the same, but didn’t know how to translate the skills I learned in my own recovery into client work in my private practice. That’s when I decided to invest in my clinical skills. I did courses, individual supervision and peer supervision, and went to eating disorder conferences! I soaked up all I could in order to be the best counselor I could be.
I have translated all of my knowledge and expertise (and work with my clients!) into this course for YOU to help your clients.
You can grow as a dietitian by learning more about nutrition counseling skills and how to put that information into the work that you do with your clients.
This course will show you how to counsel clients and take them from an unhealthy relationship with food to intuitive eating and food freedom.
The program has four main components that will teach you how to help your clients how to reconnect with their body and brain, notice hunger and satiety cues, own and observe feelings, and work on challenges for their entire well-being.
There are also additional bonus lessons included:
"Considerations for Intuitive Eating and Eating Disorders in Private Practice". This training covers 6 important topics, ranging from working with parents and families to how to make a referral to a higher level of care.
"The Role of the RD in Nutrition Counseling for Eating Disorders" guide. This guide highlights the importance of having a Registered Dietitian on the team when working with a client that has an active eating disorder. As a dietitian, gain skills and insight into the powerful work that you do.
A Health at Every Size® training. This section includes a 60 minute lesson on What is Health At Every Size® and Understanding a Weight-Inclusive Approach learning more about HAES® and how to use these principles with your clients as well as common questions about Health at Every Size®.
The For Professionals: Help Your Clients Feel Fabulous About Food course will teach you how to help your clients:
How their body works and why they end up breaking the diet cycle (or why they can’t continuously “eat clean”, “eat healthy”, “follow Keto” or whatever restrictive diet plan they are doing.)
To understand hunger and fullness and how satisfaction plays a role in food decisions so your clients can connect with their body again.
To develop skills in meal planning. If clients have no idea how to practice intuitive eating, you can help them discover how to get started and continue learning how to adapt to life situations.
How they can finally escape the binge eating cycle for good, knowing why they binge and how to change it.
Ways to take back the term “emotional eating” so your clients can eat with emotion and enjoy those special events like birthday parties, eating out, and baking with their family.
Skills to reframe thoughts and feelings and develop coping skills so they don’t feel bad about the foods they eat.
The course contains recordings, handouts, and resources all for increasing nutrition counseling skills in intuitive eating and eating disorder recovery.
This course will ultimately teach you how to make your clients feel better in the body they have right now.
